McCarthy: Youngster Nydam Getting Stick Was Appalling
at 18:46:19

My 140 mile round trip on Tuesday was truly awful and compounded by the A14 being shut on the home and making my journey 40 mins longer but my main memory was fans booing and harking at Nydam when he misplaced a header and one pass. I'm not Mick In or Out but he is right with this comment, I'm sure I'm just another fan who won't attend again this season because of such negativity all round. Fingers crossed for a fresh start next season in any respect. No Mick or Mick with money to spend and reduced ticket prices.

Chambers: Norwich "Nowhere Near" Play-Off Season Level
at 13:23:24

Felt sorry most for this guy yesterday. Thought he had a good game overall and topped it off with attacking the set piece with everything and what he thought must have been the winner. Definitely better with two more footballing centre backs next to him in Webster and Carter-Vickers too. Say anything you like about the club and our playing style but Chambo is an excellent captain who leads by example and obviously cares so much.

Chambers: Still in There Fighting But We Need Fans' Backing
at 15:33:36

The money in football debate will go on and on. In fairness even Cardiff spent £6 million just now on an average Championship striker in Gary Madine. We simply cannot compete with that level of transfer fee and I will be amazed if Sheff Utd and/or Preston reach the play offs as their small squads will drop off from now.

Results like Saturday shows us where we are. A team full of endeavour but lacking in real quality on a consistent basis. This is our reality now and I cannot see a change of management making too much difference in our overall position in the league but the entertainment may well improve. No investment, no hope. That's football these days. Sorry to be bleak but that's the way I see it.

McCarthy: I Can't Make People Come to Games, I Can Only Try to Affect Results
at 12:47:47

Look at Crystal Palace. Tried to change style with players who couldn't and lost all their games with no goals scored. Two options for me: Mick in charge and we carry on as we are and play with a win at any cost attitude with the players and budget we've got. Or get Marcus to sack Mick, hire a new manager and £50 million to overhaul the whole squad bare 2 or 3 players.

McCarthy Confident of Owner Evans's Backing as They Prepare to Set Budget
at 17:27:28

Speaking to a scum fan, spurs fan and preston fan last night at a works do and they all stated how from the outside looking in that McCarthy has done an amazing job with little to no money at all. I recognise the disappointing season and little to no entertainment factor but it does prove that out of the Ipswich bubble he is still a well thought of manager and I'm sure many would be happy for him to leave right now but I can't see how any other manager would keep us in this 'bonkers' league of ever increasing competition and finances on our almost non existent budget. I'd be the first to be delighted to be proved wrong however.

Skipper Chambers Signs New Deal
at 10:46:23

Love this guy. Not the best footballer to have played for the club but will put everything on the line for the team and I believe the players look up to him which is extremely important. Lets hope his passion and desire to succeed here rubs off on everyone next season.

Knudsen: I Know When It's My Moment to Score!
at 09:04:52

Very well taken goal after a 27 PASS move. I didn't see that mentioned on Sky. Full credit to all players and fans yesterday. As mentioned before, the best part of the day is knowing the inbreeds are extremely up against it in the play off race now.

Dyer: Players Need Fans’ Support Not Protests
at 21:09:15

Kieron is spot on here. I blame ME far more than MM. We had a very hard working sum of all parts team when reaching the play offs. Now we have half of that team which I believe try 100% but cannot play the type of football fans want to see and the other half of the team try their best but get let down by the others. We need money and new signings to overhaul the team and we don't have it or ME won't give it to MM. Finally someone has made a point about teams like Fulham, Brighton, Reading, Birmingham, Huddersfield spending not much money and doing better than us. Those teams have all spent far more than us. Yes they have sold more valuable players but look at the profit and loss below to emphasise my point. Please check facts.
Season 2016/17
Ipswich transfers profit/loss: +£1.56million
Brighton transfers profit/loss: -£4.46million
Reading transfers profit/loss: -£2.07million
Fulham transfers profit/loss: -£2.00million
Birmingham transfers profit/loss: -£7.78million
Huddersfield transfers profit/loss: -£2.55million

McCarthy: TFFT
at 21:01:30

I love everyone's passion for the club and everyone is right to their opinion. I was of the feeling that if we lost today I may not bother making the hour journey to go to PR on Boxing Day.

However credit where credit is due: MM changed the team as so may have asked for; apart from kenlock who I do feel sorry for. However we won the game, away from home, against a team that is scrapping for everything. Unfortunately we are no world beaters, we never will be without investment. Look at the top half of the league to emphasise that point. I hope we can improve from here. I will back Mick for the next game and hope upon hope that we can only get better and better. If not, I am happy to accept his time should up.

Newcastle Targeting Town Striker Murphy
at 17:44:43

Simple answer, DO NOT SELL. This is a sellers market so we would get a decent fee for a 33 year old however there will be no one out there at a price we can afford who can offer us anything like the all round game Murph offers even at his age. We should build our attacks around his hold up play. The best way to emphasise this is to point out without him we would have an ageing Pitman and Varney, plus no goal in 31 games Sears. Hold on to what we've got please, we won't do better!

McGoldrick Impresses in Ireland Friendly
at 09:13:47

I followed the match on various Irish social media outlets and they were raving about Didz. Some saying he is very highly rated by O'Neill and thought as the most skilful player in the group. I hope he goes as it would do wonders for his confidence and can only improve him further ahead of next season. Lets face it he can't be fatigued after playing so little recently.

Bowditch Still Loves Town
at 12:44:33

Made his debut at 16. What a day that was, fleming pulling his hamstring as he ran past and set up Fab for 'that' goal. Westlake in the background with his no. 33 squad shirt. Both players looked at one point to have such a bright future. Glad Bowditch is still playing at this level though, no good wishes for Saturday of course though.

McCarthy: Club Should Be Lauded
at 09:25:54

I am proud of the way the club is run. Of course like any fan its frustrating not flashing the cash but ME tried that and it failed; unfortunate for all of us that we didn't have a good manager at the time but I don't think he'll risk that strategy again anytime soon. Sometimes I think we see success as a given because we've been in this division for so long but I see reaching the playoffs as a huge success last year compared to other teams budgets and if we get close again this year then it will be another successful season. If we tried to compete financially with other teams we could become a Bolton, Wigan or Sheff Utd and send the club backwards forever. I'm thankful for where we are and proud of the club, it is frustrating at times particularly when we lose with our 'brand' of football like on Friday night but even Man Utd fans for all their money will be frustrated at this time. Lets stay positive and hope by this time next week we'll be 6th.

Mick McCarthy’s Magic Method
at 11:34:24

Very interesting read. As mentioned these stats can often have no bearing on a team being successful. I noticed Leicester City at the time of writing are third from bottom in the Premier League for successful passing and possession stats in games but sit top of the league so there is still hope!

Fantastic idea and a great trip to organise. I have been to Waterford a few times now as my girlfriend is from there and her parents still live there. I am over to the City again at the end of May so will wear my Town shirt with pride as always. COYB!

McCarthy: Booing Doesn't Help
at 10:10:27

I am a big MM fan and can't believe where our team is compared to before he took over. I know he doesn't play the style of football we are all looking for and when we don't win playing without that style can be ugly to watch and more frustrating. HOWEVER the big picture is we have a realistic chance of promotion for the first time in 10 years and why any fans would want to jeopardise this with negativity I just don't know.

Lets stick together and shout louder for the lads starting this evening! COYB!
