Thread | What is the point in starting Gerken?

As I write this he has just saved a penalty however, what do we learn from him starting?
We know he's an average keeper but why not give Crowe some much needed game time? Hayes I guess must be looking to get some senior football at some point and I assume the lad Marsden will be leaving at some point but I would be rather frustrated if I was Crowe and Hayes being held back from even bench appearances by Deano |

I think Jordan Spence is a strange signing seeing as Digby and Smith are coming back, I know the 3 at the back probably occupies most of our centre backs and it is just extra cover but does it really mean someone is going #Chambers |

I remember 2 seasons ago when we earned a respectable replay against Southampton in the 3rd round. Lawrenson was co-commentator that day and I don't believe we were actually that bad on the day. However, all he did was slag us off. That was then, god forbid he watches us now, could finish the old chap off. |
