Clegg: Clubs With Troublesome Fans Should Pay More for Policing
at 09:57:32

The key point is football is simply too expensive and thanks to the current regime's business plan based solely on reaching the Premiership so they can fill the 10,000 empty seats with people coming to see Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd etc we remain one of the most expensive clubs in the league and more expensive than many in the Premier League.

Even if these lads could find the extra £200 a season in the middle of a period of criminally high youth unemployment why should they? Where would their £200 go? Would it go to the development of the club? I doubt it.

The whole sport is currently a ticking timebomb. Attendances are falling up and down the country as traditional supporters are priced out, look at Colchester who are down 20% on attendance despite their most promising start to a season ever. Look at the fisaco at Liverpool, a European giant reduced to a farce as Americans and Asians with no connection to the club or the city argue over its future.

Town\'s Agent Spending Up
at 15:17:33

Agents are nothing but parasites.

Clough had it right when he said once that if one of his players would have asked to consult his agent he'd have punched him in the face.

If they were taken out of the game we'd all be better off, well apart from the agents.

Town Issue Vuvuzela Ban
at 10:34:36

What over the top bollox, I don't particularly like the things but I doubt PR would be a sea of them come the first game and as the main people to want one of these seems to be the kids (who I'm sure the parents wouldn't allow them to blow it all game!) it's basically a rule saying sorry kids, no fun to be had at PR.

Who's for smuggling one in for the first game of the season and using it like a blowpipe to fire bottle tops at Mick Warden. We could inflict deafness and chaffing in one foul swoop!

No Big Screen at Portman Road for USA Game
at 10:55:36

It's bloody criminal that we can't get a decent big screen event on, it would be the next best thing to actually being there. I think there's more than meets the eye as to why this event was cancelled, I hear there were big name acts confirmed and these things take time, so you'd assume the police knew about this months ago, inded they must have to have carried out the so called 'intelligence' (police intelligence - now there's irony for you!) that lead to the event being cancelled at the last minute. All the people I spoke to were taking kids along and the nature of the musical acts meant it would have been much more a family event than the hooligan's paradise Suffolk Police would have you believe.

The club have also missed a trick, revenue per game for matches televised at the ground would have been enormous and surely the stadium safety certificate would have covered the necessary 'elf 'n' safety.

Missed opportunities all round.
