Instead of always blaming the players maybe Keano should look in the mirror and ask:
A) Why does he always change a winning team?
B) By taking off Garvan so early it only re-enforced the blame on probably our most creative player. I am sick of Owen being used as a scapegoat!!
When Ian Holloway lost at Portman Road a few months ago he blamed the defeat on his tinkering and whatever was said in the dressing room remained behind closed doors.
Look and learn Keano and stop being so damn arrogant!!

It is a total mystery to me as you would expect Roy Keane team to give 100%

Whilst I am keen to give these guys a chance I think we have to be a little bit cautious with our optimism. Both players are not match fit and have not been able to force their way into a struggling Sunderland side. In addition Keano's transfer dealings have been a bit sketchy to say the least!!
Did anyone see how the mighty Preston got on last night???
Even if we survive relegation we all have to admit that this season has been a total disaster, especially when you look at what other clubs have done with much smaller resources (Blackpool, Palace, Barnsley, Scunthorpe etc)

Am i only one that is getting a bit fed up by our seeming inability to sign any decent players? Is this to do with our wages, league position or our manager??
Good players are being loaned out such as Welbeck, the striker at Watford on loan from Arsenal and McSheffrey amongst others.
Whenever there is competition we seem to miss out and end up paying over the odds for players like Priskin and Edwards, or end up with waste of space signings such as Martin, John and Healy.
Our transfer record is terrible and explains where we are now.
I hate to harp on by why did we let Rhodes go without even giving him a chance and Ambrose would have loved to have signed for us. |

Apart from Leadbitter who is ok, all that Keano has signed have been pants!
I think it is not new players that we need but a decent assistant to the manager as we he obviously needs some help, support and guidance. Someone like Paul Hart.....but then again could anyone work with RK??? |

I am elated that we have picked up a Crystal Palace reserve that is just coming back from injury and has barely kicked a ball all season. This really is scraping the bottom of the barrel and says a lot for our transfer skills such as spending a fortune on Priskin and giving away Rhodes!! Even Lee is ahead of John in the pecking order at Palace!!

I agree that Garvan is the best passer of the ball that we have in a squad. The two main issues with him is a lack of pace and strength but these failings could be labeled with the rest of our midfield (Trottet, Quinn, Colback etc)
I think that kid needs a decent coach and someone that is prepared to develop him into the player that his potential merits.
Would that be the caring, sharing, understanding Keano ..........methinks not !!
Hence the reason for Roy wanting to get rid of him, but that would be such a shame.
The one thing that is so obvious with our current situation is that Keano needs help from an experienced coach. At the moment he seems to be master of all and lacks the subtlety required, especially when asked media questions whcih results in fear and a bad atmosphere amongst the players. Share the burden Roy and concentrate on coaching and motivating..........but alas I think he is too pig headed to admit he needs help!!

Yes, it would be nice to get Norris back on the pitch and he can only benefit what is a very average midfield at present. Does Trotter frustrate other fans as much as me??? He looks the part, is strong, has an excellent engine etc but he just does not seem able to impose himself on a game. I would have thought that Keano would have been the perfect role model for him but it is just not happening yet. Look at his pathetic "challenge" in the run up to Hume's goal at Barnsley...........would Keane have let him skip past??
Anyway, keep the faith, a win is not too far away........before Xmas I Hope !! |

Do any of the top managers such as Wenger and Ferguson ever publicly critisise their own players??
I thought Keano had learned his lessons but obviously not!!
I for one am keen to give the new manager time to bed in his team but players are coming in and out, formations and tactics are changing from game to game and is it any wonder that the team look confused and shell-shocked??
I am ever the optimist so will continue to hope :) |

Our midfield has been screaming out for some pace, power and quality so I am really pleased with the two signing. I think that Grant Leadbitter looks tailor made for this club. I am just hoping that injuries have not restricted Carlos Edwards as if he can get back to the form he showed when Sunderland were promoted than we can certainly do with his speed, energy and tricks on the wing.
Fingers crossed :)
