Wordsworth Available as Ambrose Joins in Training
at 14:55:48

Have always thought that MM was a good choice for manager and that he had the credentials to get us out of the division, but I am now starting to get worried by his decisions it seems that any spark of creativity is being pushed out of the team to make way for hard working willing runners. Looking at the first few games of the season it is blatantly obvious that we need a creative spark in midfield. Surely with the team we have we can afford to have one luxury player who has the ability to change the game with one contribution. Not any MM but some of his decisions re the players are starting to get the alarm bells ringing for the way that we play in the future.

Pearce Misses Portsmouth Training

On a slightly different note rumours that Smith the Spurs RB is signing for Leeds cant help feel that we missed out on a good deal there that would have solved our perpetual problem with the right back postition

Jewell: Centre-Half a January Priority
at 08:16:33

It seems that the problems at our beloved club are way deeper than merely needing a couple of new c/bs the whole structure needs reviewing from the ceo downwards. We need to go back to the days when we developed our own talent and actually coached then and developed them. I would like to see a number of changes made thge first one being Clegg removed from the CEO postition and replaced with someone like David Dein who has a wealth of footballing knowledge and contacts. we need to get rid of Jewell and bring in a new management team i would love to see Zola in charge with Wilkins as his number two. We need to appoint specialist coaches ie de vos to work with the defenders holland / milton / murhen/ thijssen to work with the midfield and maybe spmeone like mariner to work with the forwards. I would bring back the reserve team and put Wark in charge of that and leave Russell Osman to continue his work with the youngsters. With this new structure in place we may well have half a chance to pull ourselves out of the mess that we have created over the last 3-5 years byu chasing after the big names who have no passion or understanding what Ipswich mean to the community and the supporters

Austin Agrees Burnley Deal - Reports
at 12:45:41

I agree wholeheatredly with BLooooCD and Casanovacrow

Clegg is totally clueless and the sooner he resigns the better.

To all those that are saying we need to stick within a wage structure and Austin is a money grabber. That may well be true and if it is we did indeed dogde a bullett but if we look at all the players that the moron Clegg has failed to sign or agree new contracts for are they all just in it for the money and asking to much.

I for one am seeing a pattern

Target Identified
Manager sells the club
player is keen to join
passed onto Clegg
Deal messed up
player signs for a rival club

If that isnt rank incompitence i dont know what is and how Clegg and cash his pay check with out feeling guilty I will never know

The man is a plank and needs to leave NOW and give our club back to someone who understands football and our club and who knows how to negotiate a contract

Burnley Emerge as Town\'s Main Rivals for Austin
at 11:48:59

I do agree tractor boy big that we are at the mercy of M/E but at least he has shown some support to various managers and made money avaliable and it seems that he is willing to back the managers and see if they can improve our standing unfortunatly jim and he who shall not be mentioned failed to improve things and he has made the money avaliable for Jewell to at least get the players into negotiate.

On the other hand I challenge anyone to name one positive thing Clegg has done for Ipswich.

As far as I can see all he has achieved is disaster (he seems to have the midas touch in reverse everything he touches turns to sh1t)

He has gutted our team
Jacked up admission prices so we are the third most expensive team to watch in the UK
And regularly failed to seal the deal when various mangers have done all the ground work.

In my opinion he optimises all that is wrong at the moment in business in that he is rewarded for incompitence instead of getting what he deserves THE SACK

Burnley Emerge as Town\'s Main Rivals for Austin

Stow Tractor boy

As a newly signed up member of the anti Clegg brigade I was pro Sheepshanks and would welcome him back as at least he understood Ipswich and football (granted he did over reach himself and land us in financial trouble DOH) but he understood football and I believe he genuinely wanted to do his best for the club.

I have given Clegg the benefit of the doubt but all that he has seem to have done recently is fail and cause chaos.

And it is a shame because other than Clegg things are looking good for us at the moment and if we could get rid of him then I see a very bright and exciting future

I dont mean to be negative but what is the point of Clegg so far all he has done is let a vast number of players go at the end of last season beginning of this, granted some needed to be moved on, and left us paper thin on cover so much so that we have to rely on the youngsters before they are ready. He then fails (for what ever reason) to replace them with the managers identified targets.
Moving on a few months and he is excelling himself with degrees of incompetence. He seems unable to negotiate new contracts with existing players (who im sure would stay for the right offer) and then he has a bright young striker in Portman Road for the best part of a day, fails to agree terms and lets him trott off to Burnley who we are competing with for league postition!!!!
The question M/E should ask is do we need an incompitent plum negotiating our transfers and would he be better saving on Cleggs salary and employing a cold bowl of soup, the results would be the same!!
Sorry about the rant but it saddens me to see anodine pigmies (Clegg) ruining the club that I love and being payed hansomely for the privilige of doing it.
Even if we get Austin Clegg has proved to be ineffectual at best and should be moved on

Clegg and Evans Spending Weekend Interviewing Candidates
at 09:52:21

still have a feeling that Zola may be a good outside bet which IMO would be a strong and positive statement of where we are going in the future.

was never pro or anti Keane he had to go because of the results and his strange tactical decision but for all the class and dignity that he showed in his final statement I think it shows that deep down he is a decent human being and wish him well for the future

Keane Again Bemoans Lack of Goals

Just an idea how about a management team of Zola and Wilkins that would put us back on the right track and should see us playing the kind of football that ITFC should be playing

Walters Set for Stoke Switch

Sad that he is going but 3 mill is good business. I think that we should forget chasing Chopra and look at Lambert from soton and Austin from Swindon to boost the strikeforce and Boyd from Peterborough or Tommy Smith from Pompey as potential replacements for JW

Three Could Make Their Debuts at Boro

ipswich 1992 wasnt sure if he would be a good choice for this game as he has been off with Trinidad but if he was ready to play I would put him on the right instead of Walters and put walters up front with Pablo or maybe put Edwards on the bench as an impact sub

Town and Middlesbrough Still Chasing Murphy
at 10:08:32

Couldnt agree more cwb91

Why are we chasing a player who has twice snubbed us showing no interest in helping us to progress only with progressing his bank balance.

In Pablo, Wickham, Stead and Walters we have the strikers, that given the service, can score enough goals to get us flying up the league

Keane Lands Long-Time Target
at 18:50:05

excellent singings that can offer what we have been missing a bit of steel in the spine and some much needed creativity.

Looks like the Keane knockers will need to find something else to do.

Oh hears a thought they could put their energies behind supporting the team !!
