He has done well the last couple of games...but let's be realistic he is just trying harder and getting fitter because he wants a fat contract somewhere at the end of the season when he can go on a free. Players over 30 will always be lacking general fitness when compared to younger players...it takes them longer to recover from games, they pick up more injuries, so we cannot rely on the likes of sonko, bullard, bowyer etc for every game...which makes me worried when I look at who else we have to replace them. |

I do not agree with the blog as Jewell has had far too much time and money to still be blaming poor results on Keane's legacy. I also don't think Keane is a bad manager, just that he and ITFC were clearly not right for each other, he will do a good job somewhere else. Like pmason say's he took Sunderland from the bottom of the Championship to the Premier League in his first season....will PJ do this with ITFC? NO
Compare Jewell with someone like Paul Lambert at Norwich, he took over a relegated side when the season had already started and won successive promotions to from League One to the Premier League, spending very little money. Conclusion I think Jewell has had enough time and money to sort things out and should stop making excuses! |

May be lack of confidence comes from PJ repeatedly criticising players in press and going on and on about a lack of confidence....ever heard of the self fulfilling prophecy PJ? Well done to Drury scoring for Crawley, at least he is now playing for a decent team with good young hungry players and a proper manager, as opposed to our bunch of 30 year old has beens and manager who should be a stand up comic rather than manager of our once great club. Give me Crawley's players to our lot any day. |

This is isn't about Priskin persee, just about Jewel's man management, which I think has a lot to be desired. Jewell is lowering himself to the players level by continually making snide remarks to the press (Martin, Carson, Priskin) I don't blame players for this as they usually have 5 brain cells to share amongst themselves, but you would expect a manager to be a bit more intelligent and rise above this. |
