| Forum Reply | Silence is Deafening Mr Evans at 20:54 22 May 2017
Evans is the owner and as long as he is a "fit and proper person", he can basically do as he likes. He obviously feels that like the Queen, he does not have to apologise or explain to anyone. My take on this is that he now realises it was a mistake to have extended MM's contract even if It may have been a good idea at the time. He does not want to pay MM off and believes we can see out his contract and just about survive. He has no intention of allowing MM any money for big signings but is keeping quiet as he does not want to give any "votes of confidence" or muddy the water for anyone else he may have in mind to come in. It was nevertheless another mistake to have put up prices and I, along with many others, will give PR a miss until things improve. Call me fickle but no owner's public statements would alter my decision. |

His spell at Aldershot certainly has given him some leverage. His people have however advised him that his best long term interests are not best served here. As Russell Osman has stated, young talent development does not happen under MM's regime. [Post edited 19 May 2017 22:43]

Mick's pre-match team talk on Sunday saw us start the game like rabbits caught in headlights. Once our players forgot what he told them and played their own natural game, we got back into them and were in the ascendancy before conceding a soft goal. Mick's half time talk, substitutions and positional changes saw to it that we were back to the same old dross. Players either did not have a clue as to what they were supposed to be doing or were just not interested. He is not to be trusted with any new signings and has to go now! |

The Torygraph's front page says Corby wants to "take us back to the 1970s" Yes please, we had much better football then! TWTD |

In the last couple of seasons has been abysmal. This has been due to negative formation ť and having rubbish central midfield players. Strikers in exceptional form can temporarily paper over the cracks but until the manager is changed, there will be no improvement. Pitman is probably paying the price for pointing out these shortcomings to MM and is now being shown the door. |

Have a quiet friendly type word with the new neighbours. Ask if they are settling in OK. Mention that sounds and cooking smells do travel easily from flat to flat in the building , particularly late at night. Say that if they could bear this in mind it would be greatly appreciated. If this does not work, ask other neighbours if they are also affected and then refer to the block manager to ask they be formally required to comply with the lease conditions. Every lease has an implied covenant to allow neighbours quiet enjoyment |

Thanks. That was one helluva tackle he made last Wednesday when he got injured. "I hope that is with you, as going to a bigger club may lose him in the system" =- do you mean we are not bigger than Aldershot In all fairness, you do seem to be trying to play football as it should be through the middle. Sadly, we do not. I am fearful for KB as MM's hoof ball "system" will probably ruin him (as he seems to do with all other talented youngsters). Good luck for next season |

Ageist snipes! You live up north and have probably not had to endure the dross at PR for the last couple of seasons. The club has taken away a concession for people who have supported the Town for 40+ years whilst the football is getting steadily worse. To be told you now must pay more removes any further thought on cancelling. |

Any indication of a U turn on the 60- 64 concession removal? |

I'll have a pint of whatever you are on. We were mostly chasing shadows in the middle, as we have had to do in most matches for the past couple of years. |

No problem! Having watched the Town since the mid 1960s, i have never seen such ineffectual midfield play in that time. Forwards are starved of supply and defenders are continually exposed. |

Newcastle perhaps thought it would be a stroll. Sheffield Wednesday on the other hand were very much focused and up for it. Skuse did not want to know for fear of being shown up for his lack of ability to do anything with the ball and instead of offering outlets for other players, he hid. He epitomises the failings of the McCarthy approach to the game. |

He was on his own trying to create anything from central midfield. Alongside him was a total and utter waste of space. We may as well have played with 10 men. Sheffield Wednesday had a free run to control central midfield. Whilst we play with Skuse, we will never control the key area of the pitch. |
