Good management = having a couple of back up plans when you sell a good player asset. A lot of the activity has been positive and in midfield I thought we were looking good even before JW was confirmed. Maybe the size of our midfield assets will good given the injuries that some of them tend to attract. However, why have all this positive change when you cannot complete the jigsaw with a quality striker asset replacement. Unless there is a hidden strategy here I concur with fans in that its a bit of a flat finish to the window to not deliver something positive with a new striker. Wish Mr Best well but he is not George! Just hope this does not come to define our season as predicted by others on this site. ITFC to the core. |

Pleased with the positive start to the season (OK one match so far) but our defence still requires attention. Although we got a great result we did let in 2 goals. OK MM will mix it up for Stevenage tonight but I wish he would play kenlock, knudesen or Emmanual and drop Chambers from that role. Of course this would leave competition between Webster (less so for him), Smith, Berra, Chambers and DIgby. Preferred back would be Kenlock Smith Webster Emmanuel. |

Oh dear, oh dear! This morning MM wants to excite the fans! And this PM we got beaten by the Dog and Duck (to quote the great Terry Butcher). Think the type of excitement will not be of the type MM wants and, with one week left before the meaningful matches start, fans can now be justifiable concerned. Hopefully things may change but hoof ball may well return. And if we cannot turn it around, FFS make changes sooner starting with MM. |

Terry Butcher summed up todays match nicely on Radio 5 "playing the dog and duck". I hope MMs excite promise extends beyond todays opposition and takes a rest May 2017. We live in hope but this promise has been like waiting for London busses...hopefully they will turn up! |

Trying to remain positive but the more MM talks the less convincing it seems........let's hope this does not become the dog ate my homework when the door closes. Use the youngsters more...we have talent coming through and do not stick with the same old solution. FFS do not drop our No 1 goalie for Gerken. Would like to see 2-3 younger players used in each match. Well this is my opinion good or bad. Will continue to live in hope though. |

Not at this price...no. I would not sell Smith since he has a lot more to give IMO. Would clear out either Chambers or Berra if we have to (why not Coke for £1 or other fringe players) and build on a younger team. Can see why Webster was purchased (and a good purchase this appears to be) but would have liked to keep Clarke too. Unless Smith wants to go, keep hold. If he wants to go then seek a much better price. Fans (me included) are cynical that any money will be reinvested.
To be honest with the number of players leaving is MM planning to be a player manager this season? |

OK a pre-season wobble and already our great fans show how sensitive they are to the current situation. It is rightly pointed out that these matches are meaningless (thankfully) to an extent until we play Barnsley. Lets hope management actually do something to alleviate our weak areas but we clearly need to let the players particularly the younger ones have a chance too. Foolishly (or possibly not) I live in hope for now. However, if little / nothing happens - every match will be like ground hog day if MM reports many excellent performances but the actual results do not support it. Living in hope for now. |

There is probably more action in my coke bottle. Sorry Giles, having got rid of quite a few players, I would have hoped that you and Douglas would have gone! But I guess MM wants to keep some bums on seats! With the avalanche of new signings I hope that our young talent will get a greater opportunity, MM will not stick to the same players and the same system......time to kick out hoof ball.
