Chopra Defends Night Out Five

Hmmm, here's whats gonna happen tomorrow.

The crowd will most likely start with a pretty apathetic approach to the game, making very little effort to get behind the team. Rather than contribute to being the 12th man, this will most likely contribute to the team playing like the 10 man team we've recently been seeing.

Nobody in the crowd will hawl back individuals sat around them when they start to criticise or display gestures of contempt for the players. Many will actually join in!
It's a key time for those on the pitch with no Manager to take the flack during the game!
Will they be anxious? You bet they will!

In short, the collective crowd of 17k or whatever will make little headway in offering the effort they seem to be demanding of their players.

We will lose 0-2.

Now I wonder what would happen if the crowd actually believed that the team could pull this around and gave them their unwavering support for the whole 94 minutes no matter what. Confidence from the crowd would translate to confidence on the pitch whether justified or not! We've all seen it in the past! It's part of Football Team management that no manager can supply during such a rut.

The problem is that the crowd are made up from the same sort of human beings that make up the team! They're erring (on and off the pitch!) and difficult to get to work as a tighly knit and organised collective. It doesn't matter what they're paid. Once on the pitch, the money doesn't count for much.

Spot on Chops but the guys really need to prove a point by stuffing the Owls on Saturday else the knives will remain sharpened!

Also, spot on mawwam, glad someone shares my thoughts and has some sense around here.

Yep, I'll conceed that one.

We're all bright enough to realise that this could be good, bad or indifferent. It's just as sad that Joe Public jumps on them from a great height and takes a negative view with such ease. I've been in their position and have some sympathy.

As said, lets see what happens tomorrow and fingers crossed, the tide will turn.

I was thinking of a low fat vegetable Korma actually!!

It's their call on how they behave and much like with the rest of us, poor judgement creeps in sometimes. It's history now one would hope.

More importantly, it'll be interesting to see how the team respond on Saturday. Another poor show and perhaps they don't give a toss. A positive response and perhaps much of the issue did actually lay with PJ's approach and decision making.

Second Bid for Portsmouth Duo Turned Down

Three points Guentchev!!

Maybe we should stick to 4-4-blooming-2.

Quite right about the influence of new faces. If the infrastructure isn't right then the value of new acquisitions and existing talent will never be realised. It's not just a team game on the pitch, off pitch is so critical too.

Sadly, I don't know much about either in footballing terms!

Just as a bit of light relief, what the chance of us signing the following two?

Ron Benson - Plymouth Argyle
Tony Hedges - York City

I was reminded of those two whilst receiving several "never mind" comments at work this morning. Three points to the first person who can identify where those two targets came from!

Again on a lighter note, I was reminded that the BBC Suffolk Poll on who should be the next Town Manager when Joe Royle left. It came up with 22% of votes for Tony Mowbray. However, it was reported "rather disturbingly" that in second place, 18% of the votes went to Brian Knights of BBC Suffolk fame! It made me smile as clearly most posters haven't a real clue what it takes to run a football team!

Hey ho, chin up!
