| News Comment | Town: We Have Conducted Ourselves Under EFL Guidelines at 18:33:19
Illegal approach is just to do with his agent. PH was always going to be interviewed and be one of the front runners if Shrewsbury allowed him to, which they have. The agent has probably tried to make himself more money, and at league two that won't be that much anyway. I'm just delighted that he looks like he's going to be our manager. There's an interview with Shrews fans asking why they were in the top two in January somewhere on Sky Sports. All of them answered, Paul Hurst. When it was obvious MM was off he was by far my first choice. So the target next year should be top ten, then go from there, along with some entertaining football. |
| News Comment | Beattie: A Great Guy and a Great Coach at 20:27:29
My first memories of ITFC were when Mr. Ferguson was in charge. My dad had seen the Robson years and then seen the club struggle financially and always told me that our relegation was not down to him. RIP Mr Ferguson, you will remembered in Suffolk. And in Cologne, where you showed how much you loved our club and the work you did for us. |
| News Comment | No More Signings Before Window Closes at 22:17:04
We have plenty of attacking options given we only play one up front. Not sure Best is gonna be any good but let's give him a chance. But really should have got hold of a new striker in since Murphy left. Brett Pitman will get plenty of games this season, and hopefully Freddie will get to play in the middle. Plus we have Joniesta. I'll never forget that goal against Derby. Fourth loan, he must join us permanently next season! |
| News Comment | Boot on the Other Foot for McCarthy at 19:42:47
So many people blaming Mick, it is definitely the heirachy that are to blame. MM has a budget of the square root of zero to work with, yet we are close to being in the play offs for two seasons in a row. Which clubs in the top six can say they haven't spent? What do you want him to do? Get brilliant skillful players who can pass it around for nothing? They don't exist. If Evans won't put money into investing into the squad, Mick can only play big lumpers who play average football and get surprising results. That's where we are. Having watched only a handful of games this season I can see our football is particularly boring, which is why I'm amazed at our league position. It is thanks to Mick and Terry that we are there, and thanks to Evans that we are not closer to the top two. |
| News Comment | Tunnicliffe Linked With Return at 16:38:22
Yeah, not bothered by him coming here. I'd rather Teddy Bish got some games and to see how Kevin Bru does. Hopefully playing one or both will make Skuse and Hyam up their game and prove their worth. Good luck Ryan, but not this time thanks. |
| News Comment | Leicester Linked With New McGoldrick Bid at 14:44:38
Sky are reporting that Leicester will not be following up their interest, so looks like he'll stay. Hopefully he'll be a good professional and keep himself focussed on playing for town. |
| News Comment | Sammon: No Doubts About My Fitness at 19:15:36
Could all the doubters please give the guy a chance before they slate him? Hasn't touched a ball for us yet and already being rubbished. So many people on here have opinions on players we sign before they touch a ball. Christophe Berra got plenty of abuse because he was at Wolves when they went down, and he ended up being our player of the year. Not saying that Sammon will be, but at least give him some time! |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Parr Signing at 17:03:50
25 years old, international player and has been Palace's player of the year and a big part of a team that got promoted from our division. I really can't see anything wrong with this signing and for free which lets us spend some of the Cresswell cash in other areas. Great work from everyone involved in securing such a signing. COYB!!! |
| News Comment | Bialkowski Deal Could Be Done Today at 16:16:54
JWM, I have read comments on Notts County sites, all of which say he was very good, one saying he was the best keeper in League One. There were no negative comments. So can you substantiate your comments about their fans thinking he's "gash", or have you made up some friends in Nottingham? |
| News Comment | McCarthy Delighted With Response at 23:41:45
A fantastic second half performance, Williams was different class and wanted the ball so much. Hope we have a chance of signing him but if he keeps that kind of performance up Palace won't let him go. Game changed completely once the subs came on. Special mention to Frank who troubled Derby once he came on, Wordsworth had a great game. Not one player can be criticized tonight, and to see Mick really going for it and getting rewarded with a vital win says it all. Two points off the play offs and some games we should win coming up means going into the last four games I think we'll be in the top six. One final thing, I disagree with Micks comments on the possible sendings off. And if he didn't think they were possible reds why did he go to the ref at half time? Guess he doesn't want to get into trouble! |
| News Comment | Town Fans Win Champions League at 20:47:41
the last time Town fans were on there they failed to score a goal in a similar thing, so pleased they did it this time! And those that didn't score were some of my mates, so I must get better friends! |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Solid Team Performance at 19:00:39
Pretty comfortable, Dids was the difference and looks like he could hit 20 this season. We didn't look in any real danger at all even though their shout for a pen looked pretty solid. Bar Leeds, we seem to only be losing to teams who should finish in the top six, Wigan, QPR and Reading all away. If our home form keeps up (apparently we are joint top scorers at home with Watford). 9th having played three of the favourites away? Good show so far Mick! |
| News Comment | Last Day of Window Passes Quietly at 22:48:46
Creswell stays is as good as any signing. Loan window will give us the chance of a striker and we must go all guns blazing for Billy Sharp. If not him our only other option of a striker with history is Ebanks-Blake. Other than that I think we will have to get on with what we've got. Still happy with that to be honest. |
| News Comment | Stevenage 2-0 Town at 22:21:05
oh no! We are out in the first round of the fizzy cup! Last time we did well in this we ended up with Jewell. Not even slightly concerned, bread and butter please. Good luck Stevenage, hope you get a big side next round. Now for the real business of getting into the top six. |
| News Comment | Stevenage 0-0 Town Half-Time at 21:41:56
Should we be worried? Almost our first team, losing to a side who may struggle in League 1. I think MM is such a good Championship manager that we'll still be fighting for the play offs come May. |
| News Comment | Trio Doubts Ahead of Trip to Reading at 19:40:03
Cressy played every game last season, it'll take a lot to keep him out. I reckon this is all to keep others guessing! If, however, this is true I'd consider Veseli and Hewitt as the full backs (Veseli on the left) with the obvious partnership of Smith and Chambers in the centre. Berra on the bench if anything seems wrong at half time with Tommy moving over. I'm more concerned about Luke Hyam missing out. I reckon this is his season. If he continues to improve under Mick and Terry as he has done he may well be watched by some Premier League sides. If he stays fit for 90% of the season we'll be very close to the top six, and probably better if McGoldrick gets some goals. Top eight is decent, but from the build up to the season and the signings Mick has made I reckon top six is a very possible outcome! Thank God for Mick! |
