| News Comment | McKenna: Ridiculous Decision at 22:25:43
Can't believe the comments on here. We have been ravaged by illness and didn't win a game. Completely over the top reaction to one result and need to see the bigger picture. We have finally got our club back on a professional setting with a good young Manager at the helm. I was gutted with the result. We will be top 2 at the end of the Season. I've seen enough to know we are strongest squad in the league and we will have the depth to keep going. |
| News Comment | O'Leary: Evans Was a Demanding Seller at 17:49:59
Can't believe our new owners have dragged up the ME debate again. He had good intentions but they were very poorly executed, dug a hole for himself and kept digging. Fortunately he found a way out for the club and for that I'm thankful. We can at last move forward again. |
| News Comment | Cook: The Reality is We Need a Little Bit of Time to Gel at 07:22:33
If Boone hadn't missed that unmissable chance we would have rolled over Cheltenham tonight and this message board would have been lit up with positive reactions. Had we had not missed the pen v Burton we would have had the momentum to win the game. I had a sickening feeling when I saw that miss that it would cost us the game and haunt us. It's frustrating but we mustn't over react. Every pundit / commentator has had positive words about PC as a Manager and we can not keep changing direction. Plenty of teams have started badly and gone on to win this league or get promoted. Burley was a slow starter in his early seasons in the Championship and then built momentum: it will come, we have to keep backing the team. Don't knock them or it will be like West Ham every home game where the players are terrified of their own fans. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-3 Swindon Town - Match Report at 22:58:32
I like Dozzell as a player but playing in the deepest Midfield role just doesn't work. We look spineless in defence because the opposition have time on the ball in midfield and can pick a pass. Their 2nd when we had the momentum, whilst an absolute worldy, was due to Dozzell not closing down. Any other deep midfielder would have sensed the danger and stopped him driving forward and shooting. Clearly Lambo doesn't know how to get the best out of a squad that should challenge for promotion and should go NOW! |
| News Comment | Town Reject Bournemouth Bid For Jackson - Reports at 16:40:21
So lots of scouts have watched him and recommended him to their clubs and serious investments considered. However, because fans have seen him in a struggling team devoid of creativity we write him off based on 11 goals last season. Perhaps it's Ipswich and PL not getting the best out of our players? I think we should keep hold of anyone decent as we cannot replace and any cash will be off-set against losses. As for the "Freddy can do it" comments, whilst I'd want Freddie to do it, he can't on his own and may get injured again leaving us with Drinan & Hawkins as our only options for those wanting rid of Jackson & Norwood. Difficult times ahead with unhappy players needing motivating by PL as it's our only option. Monkey Blue - I think the salary cap works in that as he's already on the books his salary is £100K in the calculation although it's highly likely he's on a lot more but any new signing would have to have 100% of wages counting. So if we paid 10K a week that's 20% of our budget on one player and squad would need to be trimmed further. I only think that's how it works. I'm no expert. |

| News Comment | Cambridge United 0-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 16:14:07
We've found our level, which is L2 judging by pre season. Seriously worried by this pre season. Comments about players not looking fit, injures and limited transfer activity apart from Norwood. Need defenders urgently and we might have more confidence to go forward and take more risks. Unfortunately defence looks very brittle again and can't see Chambers being the answer. Sad times and ME is squarely to blame. He needs to bring in someone with experience of football to run the club. |
| News Comment | Brentford 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 22:31:01
Await PL usual “we were brilliant but didn't get what we deserved”. What a dreadful time to support Ipswich. I just cannot see us bouncing back. I fear another difficult summer and lack of investment. |
| News Comment | Lambert: I Thought We Were Brilliant at 12:42:23
PL is very good at PR (as in public relations not Portman Road). I wouldn't want to knock the team as it was a difficult game to prepare for. However, we are Brilliant every week in his eyes. We still top the Championship table in Long Aimless balls, aka MM and have the least shots at goal. There's only one stat in football that matters and it's goals, which we don't score or even look like scoring sometimes. We bemoan strikers but they don't get any service. Applaud the positive posts but we are a long way off bouncing back in my opinion. Just look at our Cup games against similar styled lower division. |
| News Comment | Flores Compensation Agreed With Arsenal at 12:21:25
Hang on...... it's OK for ITFC to poach a 13 yr old from overseas and set his family up in the UK but we moan when at 15 he's moved on to the yet brighter lights of EPL. You reap what you sow etc etc.... |
| News Comment | Blues Close in On Pilkington and Quaner at 09:13:55
What is the obsession with the “tax fiddle”. If Evans losses money at ITFC he can only claim back 18% corporation tax and still loses the other 82%. Yes debt rolls over into the parent company but is that ever really going to be repaid outside the PL? If it is repaid the corporation tax will then be liable. The real issue is that ME has proven time and time again he doesn't understand the football business and keeps appointing pals as CEO who are equally inept. Needs to fix the CEO position before we can start to heal. Perhaps ML has also spotted this judging by his recent outburst. Club has been poorly run since ME arrived, which has cost him several £m but too proud to put his hands up. Giving the Dark Lord free reign was the first and most costly error. |

Does anyone know if you can buy a kit without the sponsor? |
| News Comment | Former England Skipper Lampard Interviewed By Town at 09:11:53
I think he comes across very well and is a well measured intelligent bloke. I don't know how he can be described on here by some as having no experience, he has worked with some amazing Managers in his career and been through good and bad times. I wouldn't be disappointed with his appointment and I think he would be more score one more than you rather than MM concede one less. Would be an inspiration for the youngsters trying to break through at the club at the moment. He might coach goals into Teddy (if he stays fit) |
| News Comment | Kuqi: Why I Want to Be Town Boss at 12:41:45
Hmm..... Firstly the Finnish league is no where near the standard of the Championship (salary wise it's comparable to L2) Top div has 12 teams so 5th is mid table Love for Ipswich? Let contract run down and moved for the money (don't mind this BTW but it's not love for a club) Going got tough, so he quit (did he lose the dressing room?) Fell out with his boss (he fell out with Magilton on the pitch as well) so issued an ultimatum. This is a PR stunt by either him or more devastatingly the club. Saying all the things we want to hear but absolutely no substance to his claim for the job. Fond memories of the player not convinced he's a manager. |
