Well glad that was free and that the parking was a £1 those were the positives for this evening.... Out played and out muscled by kids who quite frankly deserved the win. No clue all over the pitch or on the bench. Really can't see a win on Saturday but stranger things have happened |

I think sentimentality is creeping in, yes he's one of our own but in all honesty what does he bring to the team??? Doesn't score any goals, doesn't create any goals, will always foul as a player runs past him. I have been calling for him to be involved but like so many of our players there is a lot of promise but absolutely no substance. Perhaps a new club and manager will get all of that promise from him,.perhaps his Dad is a massive shadow over him but you would have thought if he was any good he would have shone in what has been another pathetic season. |
| News Comment | AFC Wimbledon 3-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 21:48:06
Well another quality performance, I think the players know they won't be here next season and just Can't be bothered anymore, pride has gone. I do believe Cook is the right man I know we haven't had a new manager bounce but to be honest I don't think any manager could get anything out of this lot. Roll on the summer when hopefully all of these excuses for footballers will have gone and Cook can get in the players he wants. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-2 Bristol Rovers - Match Report at 21:20:13
Another disappointing display, once again on paper not a bad looking team but why put Skuse as right back? With him now being a very senior member of the squad wouldn't he have been better at centre back with Wilson and put Woolfenden at right back? I remember a couple of seasons back at reading he played there and had a blinder and we know he is capable of taking on and beating a player. Skuse I really think now could play at centre back he's done it before and we already know he is defensive minded. My one complaint of the back four is Wilson as much as I love his no nonsense approach to defending when we are 2-1 down and 5 mins to play at this point you should be free to take risks not head out for throw in... On another day perhaps we could have bagged an equiliser and possibly a winner but this is not likely to happen if we keep defending corners with all 11 players why not leave Jackson up front that would take an extra player from our area and if our keeper can catch the ball he has an outlet to catch the opposition on the break and with Jackson's pace would scare quite a few defender's. And one final point because I could go on all night can PL please stop tinkering with the team and play the same 11 players week in week out that way who knows they will get an understanding of how each other plays, passes become natural with no thinking you know where your team mate will be. At the end of the day I would rather have points on the board now than maybe think in march our players will all be fresh as daisy's. Whinge over ITID |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-1 Lincoln City - Match Report at 21:07:56
I don't understand the thinking with this game Lambert knows the fans frustrations with the cup and yet does exactly what the previous managers have done. If the club is not interested in the cup then don't charge us to go and see it. As a lot have said we could have easily played a strong team in this game and played the team today on Tuesday it's a win win then, all get a game and we could have won then there would be one less game to fit in ,and who knows if we did get to round 3 we may get a lucrative tie which could help to pay for some new signings in January to help us over the line to get back to the championship. One final point where do they get these referee's, today's one was an absolute joke I know we have rose tinted glasses sometimes but when a player went down Lincoln got the free kick although the penalty can't argue unfortunately. |
| News Comment | Town Mark World Mental Health Day at 15:49:35
i think this is a great step by Town, and from my own experiences with mental health i welcome more and more people talking about it, the more talk there is hopefully the more lives will be saved, and football for me personally is a great way for me to be out of my own head, so well done Town |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur U21s - Match Report at 09:25:24
First half not great spurs team all looked comfortable on the ball. Second a much better display with MOTM Dobra making some excellent runs down the wing and into the box, just a she he couldn't top it off with a goal. My only criticism is why were we not playing 442, as this is the preferred system for the 1st team, that way the fringe players when they get a chance can fit right in. That being said another win is always a plus and breeds more confidence COYB |
| News Comment | Luton Town 3-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 22:47:22
I'm sure I'll be down voted down for burying my head in the sand but we're out of the cup so what it's nothing new yes of course would be good to have a cup run not just for the fans but to get some well needed funds but so far I have enjoyed the games Burton away I think has to be my best game ever football not amazing but to be in the crowd singing for nearly 2 hours best time . home to Sunderland football was better and the result a massive kick in the bits but again the atmosphere again was second to none I am literally counting down the minutes till kick off at Peterborough because with 4000 thousand of us bouncing the stadium will be amazing. What I'm trying to say is results matter of course they do and our history counts but to be at those matches with the fans it becomes a much more memorable experience and to be honest it's been a few years since I have felt that it finally feels like the fans are one not on here obviously but in the stadiums all pulling in the same direction now the players and the club have to do the same. | News Comment | McCarthy: Town Players Facing Pay Cuts of 50 or 60 Per Cent at 17:02:18
Also how come MM is never asked about the fans he hounded out of PR with negative boring football calling fans numbskulls and the biggest insult telling them to f off its not a one way street fans just don't turn on a manager yes there were some ugly scenes and perhaps it went too far sometimes but I am extremely happy he is not at the club anymore and his constant snipes at the club prove the point |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Town Players Facing Pay Cuts of 50 or 60 Per Cent at 16:54:21
Yes he was asked a question but like anyone he does have the right to not answer but then MM has to give an answer because that who he is.... Wish I was getting a 40-60 percent cut on my season ticket next season so I won't be crying too hard for these players who lets face it will still be on more than a lot of fans earn a year |
| News Comment | Sheffield United 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 23:30:48
Just got back from the match I won't say anything about how poor we were because it's all been said above. What I will say is I know the teams are poles apart and I'm sure SUFC wouldn't have 30000+ if they were where we are but their crowd was superb all 4 stands were rocking something ITFC could learn from get the team playing get the crowds back and we could have something like that. Also a note on the man on the tanoy showed a bit of class by talking about us away fans saying how good we were for travelling so far when it's on TV and again at the end of the game so thumbs up to him |
| News Comment | O'Neill: Season Ticket Announcement on Wednesday at 17:15:43
i for one will be renewing next season no matter what as i am an ITFC supporter it doesn't matter what league we are in Ipswich is my club my only bug bear will be if they do what they did this year and reduce a game once a month as much as i want a full stadium i really don't think its fair on the fans who commit to the club season in season out to have this done to them. i really don't see them reducing the tickets by much but i hope they put some sweeteners in with cup tickets being thrown in for the first couple of rounds. i think the club also needs to take into consideration the away support it gets mainly for the fans who travel to every game not sure how this would work but there are a lot of people who spend a lot of money supporting our beloved club which again i think should be rewarded in some way. | News Comment | Chambers to Be Honoured at End-of-Season Dinner at 14:29:19
i'm not going to come on here and say that Luke Chambers is a great footballer because i think we can all agree and i'm sure he would say himself that he is not blessed with a massive amount of skill but what he does lack in skill is a massive love for this club you genuinely feel it does hurt him when we lose, he has done a massive amount for the club and the youngsters, and to play 300 times for the club especially in this day and age is quite frankly worth celebrating, you can also see that he is now trying to play football there were a few times especially at Bolton where he came forward with the ball and passed to a team mate not just get the ball and hoof it so i really think PL is having an impact on his style of play now as well and if that is the case then in league 1 we have a player that will hopefully come to the fore and help us get back to the championship at the first attempt |
| News Comment | Bolton High Court Hearing Adjourned at 13:19:11
i'm with pumpee1980 got a ticket and just want to know if the game is going ahead or not, i do feel for all the back room staff and game day staff at Bolton that haven't been paid but also feel for our supporters who have bought train tickets hotels etc and we are still don't know what is happening. |
| News Comment | Lambert: Wait and See What Happens at the End of the Season at 14:31:42
i'm really hoping he was answering the question in the way that his record at most clubs could well mean he would be sacked, i really hope he is not thinking of leaving as to be honest i think this would kill season ticket sales and our chance of bouncing straight back up, i do know i have rose tinted glasses on when it comes to ITFC but i really don't think anyone could have changed our season and kept us up with the players we have at our disposal, yes Saturday's result was lets face it cr&p but i really don't think we were out played at any point by Hull the difference was and has been all season we just can't score goals, our stats for shooting on and off target for most of the games PL has been in charge have been really high but our inability to score has been one of the reasons we are where we are no team has really torn us apart and for all those people who wanted MM to stay how many times at the 90th minute were we singing "we've had a shot". i really believe that if PL can have a pre season with the team he wants and gets a striker or 2 that can score in League 1 then i'm sure we will bounce back, and i really hope Evans is doing all he can to keep PL, lets face it if we were to win League 1 (i know tinted glasses) Evans could well see what can happen and invest better for the championship and really have a go to get to the promise land but he has to keep PL and get as many fans in the building week in week out and that means lowering ST prices lets have 23000+ every home game not just once a month. | News Comment | McGoldrick: I Was Open to Staying at Town But Hurst Said No at 10:34:58
To be fair i'm sure he would have gone anyway the club couldn't afford to keep paying someone who was only playing a quarter of the season, personally think he had run his time with us did great to begin with but injuries and possibly being to comfortable in the squad he wasn't the player we signed but fair do's to him he's fought back and got himself a new club, think this shows what Ipswich over the years has become and what he has said "no big expectations to win every game" that comes from management so players become comfortable in just getting by, we now have a manager that wants to win every game just like us fans if don't but we've had a good go no one can be upset but to go into games with no expectations of winning is shocking |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-1 Nottingham Forest - Match Report at 18:42:40
Becclesblue I do understand your point but Lambert had a transfer window in Jan but let's face it who would come to a bottom of the table team unless you are only here for the money or you are trying to get a new contract I for one am optimistic for the future because at last we are playing attractive football yes the wins column is dismal but you can see things going in the right direction and who knows what players we will have next season as itfcsince73 has said the team that played on Saturday 5 of them probably won't be here come August but I would like to think a lot of players will look at how we have played in the last few games and buy into what Lambert is doing not just on the playing side but also bringing the fans the town back together I may be one of the happy clappers but I am for once enjoying us play football which to be honest I haven't felt in a while like all though I really hope the win column has a few more than 3 come the end of the season ITID |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-1 Nottingham Forest - Match Report at 14:39:43
I really don't think anyone is happy about dropping into the third tier and as a fan of course we all want town to be winning games and this year let's face it 3 wins is pathetic now there are a lot things that could the reason but surely we can all see that we now have a manager who sees the damage that has been done over the years by 1 manager yes Marcus Evans possibly could put more money in but I'm sure he doesn't have an endless pot of money I hate to say it but look at Norwich they signed a player for free who has as many goals as we have points Mick mills has said it before it's about recruitment and I really hope with PL who knows about football will be able to recruit the right players to get us up at the first attempt and I'm sure players will look at our club and see how great it will be to play in front of fans who love this club. Like i said I'm not happy about the drop but for the first time in years I'm starting to see the shoots of our club playing football the right way and everyone pulling in the same direction ITID |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-1 Nottingham Forest - Match Report at 20:51:25
I have to say the first time in a long time I came away from the match with a smile on my face every man played their part, chalobah motm for me although he still does the hard work only for his end product to let him down having said that his volley more than deserved a goal was right behind it and I thought it was going in. Referee again awful but we've said that all season starting to wonder if they get their ref licence from a corn flakes packet. My only down from today is our lack of goals who knows where we would be had say Freddie of Keane or even Walters had stayed fit . But even with the now inevitable of us going to league 1 I can honestly say this season has been more exciting than any of the mm seasons don't get me wrong I hate that we are going down and I don't think it will be as easy to bounce back like some but I really think we have the basis of a team now who want to play football yes the pressure is off which does help but we are actually passing and shooting at goal. I do think we will not be able to keep judge though which would be a shame but I'm sure a championship side will come in for him. Let's hope we can carry this on to the end of the season.ITID |
| News Comment | Kenlock Pleased to Get His Chance After Early Frustration at 16:26:07
he's a funny player i felt really sorry for him when Knudsen was picked no matter how bad he played and when he got his chance to play to me he looked a much better player than knudsen, he could go past a player and could also pass forward which to be honest was refreshing to see unfortunately the last few games he has looked very suspect with his defending and as SouperJim has said looked vulnerable, hopefully he can push on and stamp out some of this from his game which if he gets more game time and good coaching will get him better |
