Baptiste Trial Now in February Thursday, 14th Jan 2010 09:30 Trinidad and Tobago international Kerry Baptiste will now join Town for his trial in February, according to Darryl Warner, the managing director of his current club Joe Public. Baptiste, 28, was due to spend this week with the Blues but his spell was postponed due to the weather. Warner said: “Kerry will be leaving on February 10th and returning home on February 19th from his trial at Ipswich. We have been in contact with their club officials who have informed us that with the freezing weather most clubs are having their training sessions indoors. “This would have made it difficult for Kerry to get a fair assessment of his ability so they expected that by the second week in February the weather will be much better and he would be able to get in a few matches outdoors to impress their coaching staff.” Baptiste, a wideman or striker who scored 48 goals in the last domestic Trinidad season, was first mentioned in connection with a trial with the Blues last month. Meanwhile, former Blue Darren Currie has joined Dagenham and Redbridge from Chesterfield on a permanent basis having previously been on loan with the Daggers.
