Lisbie Fancies Millwall Switch
Lisbie Fancies Millwall Switch

Striker Kevin Lisbie has confirmed that he is training with Town’s youth players, as reported by TWTD a week ago. Lisbie, who has a year left on his Blues deal, looks certain to leave Portman Road this summer and says he would be interested in joining Millwall.

Lisbie said: “I’ve been told to train with the youth boys, although the manager has told me it’s nothing personal.

“I’m clearly not going to play at Ipswich and the manager has told me that if any club comes in for me then he’ll let me know.”

Millwall boss Kenny Jackett is considering a move for the 31-year-old and the switch would appeal to the former Jamaica international: “I’d definitely be interesting in going to Millwall — it’s a great club. Obviously they are in London and that’s an attraction so, all in all, I’d have no problems in moving there.”

Even the booing he received while playing against the Lions for Colchester last season doesn’t put him off: “Obviously they know me from Charlton and I’m sure they wouldn’t boo me if they didn’t think I was a good player! I just took it at face value and I’ve got no problem with that — it’s all part of the game.”

Meanwhile, Southampton midfielder Simon Gillett, who was interesting Town, has joined his former loan side Doncaster after his release by the Saints. The 24-year-old has signed a two-year deal.

Ex-Town midfielder Sammy Moore is on trial at AFC Wimbledon, although he could still stay with his current club Dover Athletic.

Love the fact that Lisbie has suddenly become the worst forward we have ever had.
He isnt.

His face doesnt fit, his style of football doesnt fit (blame Jim), but hes not a poor player.

Clearly Lisbie is a square peg in a very round hole... everyone knows he's off my personal opinion is he should do it quietly and gracefully and get on with it. He was no good at all for Town but has proven himself elsewhere - fact. These things happen (even at the best/biggest clubs), it didn't work out, get over it. Even Keane has got the sense to keep relativly quiet about the whole saga, just hope KL can do the same and sort a new club out that he's happy with and the rest as they say is history! Good luck to him, onwards and upwards hey!

Cleggy needs to get a video and circulate it to the football league clubs and drum up some more interest. The money we get from Lisbie's transfer will go to Keano as a bonus for such a fantastic first season in charge. Also, we could also send the Ipswich end of season video to You've Been Framed. Bound to raise a few laughs !!!

Wouldnt the best thing all round for Lisbie & Ipswich be just to give him a free transfer-oh no I forgot lazy lisbie isnt going to give up his 5-10k wages when no one else wants him!

Get out of our club, one if not the worst of Magiltons signings! Thanks for that one.

ipswich elvis you legend haha. i dont see why fans slate you off on here, you are only one af a few that actually talk sence and are not living in dream land, we all know we wont get the plays with keane in charge so its pointless sayin we will, it will just add pressure like england in the world cup. get keane out, new manager fresh start, new season thats what we need, and build up the players though the youth not letting them all go e.g. trotter who in my opinion is a fantastic player and our best midfielder! come on town sort your self out.

joeippy01 - you are one of the few cultured and sensible fans on here. Everyone knows that Keane is crap and needs to walk or given the boot. Unfortunately, there are a few on here who still cannot comprehend that we have gone backwards under our "messiah" and are still having wet dreams about Keane in charge. They need to get a grip and tap their heels together and get back from Oz/Neverland or wherever they are currently lurking.........

After having a red hot phone Lisbie you are now at the stage of offering yourself to clubs. So if Millwall dont met your terms who will be the next preferred club?

Earl Jean was worse than Lisbie.

Elvis, I hear they are offering you to Millwall as a sweetner to the deal, who wouldn't want such a positive fan, I've heard the hamburgers and toilet facilities are excellent!

joeippy, you can't even spell sense, let alone talk it

elvis, you're a tedious bore. It might occur to you some of us don't just worship Keane...we're giving him a chance (i.e. more than one season)

seems fair to me

Joeippy01: Whilst I agree that Trotter was a good prospect for the future showed signs of being a decent player, I really wouldn't describe him as our best player... oh and for about the tenth time on here... RK did not sell him, get rid of him, push him or let him go! Trotter was offered an extended contract wich he refused to sign for Millwall. Why... two reasons...
1. He was a first choice at Millwall whilst on loan there last season, whilst he wasn't first choice at Ipswich. (He was early in the season but because of 2. below, he was dropped when Norris became fit)
2. When he played for Millwall he was supported by their fans and when he played for Ipswich he had a minority of idiots giving him stick.

Trotter leaving for Millwall had more to do with negative fan attitudes than it did RK.

Yeah I agree Trotter is a good midfielder, shame we couldn't keep him.

Quote joippy01 "Trotter was our best midfielder". Oh...my...aching...sides!!! Might just have stopped chuckling about that by the first match of the season! You've obviously not noticed Norris and Leadbitter in the middle then.

It still defies belief that a handful of fans still blame Roy for this! Lisbie has been the one mouthing off to the press. He is simply not a very good player. Roy rightly identified that at an early stage. Hopefully Lisbie will be sold - but who will want to pay his high wages? Thanks Jim.
