QPR Linked With Bullard Loan
QPR Linked With Bullard Loan
Wednesday, 11th May 2011 09:24

Newly-promoted QPR are linked with a season-long loan move for Town target Jimmy Bullard in a number of this morning’s papers. Blues boss Paul Jewell wants the Hull midfielder to return to Portman Road next season — again possibly on loan - but concedes it will be a difficult deal to do with Premier League sides also interested.

QPR have been eyeing Bullard throughout his time at Town and manager Neil Warnock is reported to be looking to negotiate a loan with the Tigers, the one-time England call-up’s wages having put Rangers off doing a permanent deal. One paper claims two of Bullard's previous clubs, West Ham and Wigan, may also be interested once their divisional status is known.

The possibility of Bullard returning to Portman Road for a further loan next season is something Town and Hull have also been discussing, with some reports suggesting that the Blues are ready to break their wage structure to land this season's Player of the Year on loan for the 2011/12 campaign.

Town are said to be willing to pay Bullard £20,000 of his famed £45,000 weekly wage for the 32-year-old to return to Suffolk.

Jewell admitted last week that a further loan spell may well be looked at: “We will explore all avenues, any way we can do it, we’ll try and do it. I think people have to realise that some things at times aren’t doable but we will endeavour and try our very best to do it.”

However, if they can, Hull will almost certainly want to entirely rid themselves of Bullard’s salary, which they are contracted to for the next two years and which makes up 21% of their wage bill.

But, if no permanent deal can be done with Town or another party, a further loan may be seen as a temporary solution.

Meanwhile, former Blues and QPR boss Jim Magilton is amongst those being interviewed for the manager's job at Swindon Town.

i have no doubt if it were down to jimmy he would come here but prem teams will be able to pay a higher percentage of his wages then us so hull will just reject us and accept others bids

If his heart says he'd like to be at Town I wonder what it thinks at being at West Ham. My guess is that's one club he'd pick above any other

If it were any other player he'd be gone, but with such a shocking few years behind him he has now had a spell in favour, injury free and enjoying his footy - is he really gonna throw that away? If I were him I'd stay at Ipswich, slap on the captains armband, take all the deadballs and have some fun seasons unanimously loved by my own fans before my retirement. He'd just be back up to Taarabt at QPR anyway would he? Better to be the first name on the team sheet in my opinion but who knows? Also, this could just be crafty media talk from the club who don't really want to spend that much on him despite it meaning so much to the fans.

Who knows?

Go on Jimmy all the other teams are rubbish - sign up and be a hero!

If QPR don't want to sign him permanently then they won't be offering to pay all his wages in a loan deal either

I wouldn't break the wage structure for Jimmy. Great player. Brilliant. But destined for bigger things.

If people honestly think Jimmy will turn down PL football to play for us, I think they will be very disappointed!

But you can bet they will pay a bigger portion than us JimmyJazz.

If Warnock gets the chop, then I doubt QPR will be after him.

Spot On Baron Baron!!!

I don't think he will end up at QPR. There will be others interested in him in the Prem.

We want rid of him altogether. We will waive the fee, but the rest is a straight auction for his salary.

I've said all along these comments about it not being about money are lies.

You watch how long this drags on for IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!

My advice to you lot; wave goodbye and move on. You don't need expensive, crocked, has-beens.

Definately wouldn't break the wage structure for anyone.

Would only cause unrest within the squad. I sincerely hope the Bullard stuff resolves itself sooner rather than later as I really don't want to sit through another Jeffers saga.

amber & black. while your views may not be totally wrong, our local paper has today reported that jimmy has told adam pearson that he wants to stay with ipswich, & that he is willing to take a pay cut, as he did this season when he signed on loan. so it appears it not so clear cut that he'll end up at apremiership side.

At the end of the day (god I hate that phrase) Jimmy will do what's best for him financially, and who would blame him? I certainly wouldn't.

However, that's coming from me, who took a pay cut to get a job I wanted moving from a top 20 company to a firm with 6 people!(best move i've ever done) It's not all about the money.

Still, I don't expect to see him here next season, but I would break the current wage structure to get him in. It's like any employee, they're either worth it, or they aren't. JB is alway good PR for any team, he's a 'name' and that's good for profile, something i'm sure Evans will be aware of.

My mars bar and pickled onion monster munch offer for every goal stands Jimmy.

If Bullard REALLY wants to come back to us , he only has to decline any other Clubs suggested "interest". Its thats simple.

His agent must be actually doing something for his money and working overtime at the moment, but financely I'm sure he'll earn a crust out of this at the end of the day. You know the terms Jimmy and alright, I'll throw in a mars bar :-
Sign here...................................
P.S. Its nearly my final offer !

He'll only go to QPR if Taarabt leaves in the close season. He's already being linked with moves to places like Newcastle who will pay considerably more than QPR.

If Taarabt stays at QPR, Bullard will be here next season.

He didn't take a pay cut this year. We paid all his wages and you paid us £350k which amounted to about £20k a week.

Looks like West Ham and Wigan are now interested in him as well as QPR and yourselves.

If he comes here for footballing reasons then he would rank amongst the greats of portman road. Money talks and for someone to come here because he enjoys being here would be an amazing fact. I think us having him here would also show a few players who might doubt our ambition that we indeed are serious about progressing. I just have a feeling that he will turn into the new dos santos.
