Academy second-year scholar Elliot Scotcher has been added to the Wales U17 squad for their tournament in Sweden later this month. The midfielder had originally been put on standby.

First-year striker Jack Simmons was already in the squad. The Welsh play Iceland on July 19th, Norway on July 21st and the hosts on July 23rd.

You don't care that an Ipswich player has been called up to represent his country? Regardless of what level it is it, it's an achievement and should be taken as a testament to the lad's skill (as well as our Academy's ability to develop players).
