Priskin a Russian Target
Priskin a Russian Target
Tuesday, 10th Jan 2012 14:59

Town striker Tamás Priskin is a target of Russian side Alania Vladikavkaz, according to his agent. Priskin recently returned from a short-term loan spell at Derby County.

Alania, who the Blues played in a friendly in Cyprus late in the 2001/02 campaign, are currently top of the Russian second division.

Several other clubs are also keen on the Hungarian international, according to his agent Jozsef Vorosbaranyi, but with Alania heading the race: "We can say that there is considerable interest, but I want to emphasise that two or three teams are seriously interested and nothing is decided yet."

Priskin’s Town contract is up at the end of the season and the Blues would probably ask only a nominal fee for the 25-year-old or may be willing to allow him to move out on a free transfer in order to remove his wages from their books.

The frontman joined Town from Watford for £1.7 million in the summer of 2009 and has scored nine goals in 35 starts and 24 sub appearances, spending loan spells at QPR and Swansea in addition to Derby.

Meanwhile, Jewell says he has talked to a couple of his potential January targets, whose current sides evidently met the Blues on one of their better nights this season: “I spoke to two players last night about coming here — two players in different teams — and they said we’re the best team that have come to our place have been Ipswich.

"It’s just the consistency and the giving goals away that’s put us in the situation we’re in.”

So a couple of jewell's targets reckon we're the best side they've met this season. That narrows down the field considerably. Can't be anyone from Peterborough, Southampton, Burnley, Nottm Forest, Blackpool, Milwall, Hull......

Priskin has been out in the cold for so long here

that it will feel quite normal and he'll adapt to it quickly

I estimate that he's worth about a couple of Roubles or a small Vodka

Do the knockers realise he is a current international, the only one I can think of apart from Jamie Peters who is also shunned by club.Interestingly Jewell said the other day he hadn't had any interest in anyone, not surprising the dross he has signed and those that are any good ,the second class coaches(his mates) seem have reduced their ability apart from JS.Worst record for ITFC apart from wor Jackie Milburn but most of that was in top division.WE said club was in a mess when RK left, feel its even worse now.Div 1 here we come!

£1.7 million for Priskin and letting Rhodes go what a spotting of talent you have Mr Keane . Jewells crap signing of Chopra and one of his awful loans Andrews have nearly outscored Priskin for the club in half of an awful season .Take Delaney and Leadbitter with you .
And Jas0999 as you keep talking of crap loans and why so many now under Jewell what about D Healy,Murphy,ODear,Stern John,Rosenoir,Colbaek,Bergovic who was recalled !, and the mighty Rory Fallon ,i dont recall you moaning so much about Roys loanees ?

'I spoke to two players last night about coming here — two players in different teams — and they said we're the best team that have come to our place have been Ipswich' - perhaps he is referring to some of our pre-season games? PJ is clearly deluded. After one year in charge he is statistically the second worst manager EVER. ME has a lot to answer for. PJ should have been acked Sunday. Pathetic club.
