Town’s U18s play their first friendly of pre-season on Saturday when they take on Kirkley and Pakefield’s first team at their Walmer Road ground (KO midday).

The game will be the first chance to see this year’s new intake of first-year scholars in action.

No-one really stood out, U18s number 5 looks okay, but really not quick enough in my opinion, but gets his head up and picks a pass well. Left back in second half looked good, vocal too. To be honest, there were a few Kirkley youngsters who looked very comfortable. 0-0, Kirkley had better chances and a goal disallowed.
