I've even uttered those knee-jerk "F*%k off out of our club' statements in the heat of the moment after one of the numerous abysmal, soul-destroying, depressing defeats and/or performances over the last few years
However, he has kept us going as a business and in a sense I've been glad to have him keeping the club upright over the last year and whilst I don't expect his motives were ever for the love of the club, I've never really believed all this stuff about him being crook using us as a tax fiddle.
Still, he hadn't got a clue about running a football club and got just about every decision wrong in his thirteen years here with devastating consequences on the pitch, taking us from genuine contenders for the Premier League to a side that at times has looked increasingly like its heading to League 2. Hopefully by selling now he has offered us new hope just in the nick of time to somehow salvage this once great club.
I'm delighted he's out of the decision making, as much for him as for us. |  |
