Standing with the opposition fans 23:00 - Oct 28 with 758 views

Reading about some fans going to Charlton tomorrow and being in the Charlton section takes me back 41 years when we played Norwich on Easter Monday and unusually for a league match it was all ticket . Me and 3 other lads couldn’t get tickets in the Barclay stand so we to Norwich a week before the game and got 4 tickets for the river end has we all come from Lowestoft we had no problem getting the tickets as are accents were no different. So on the day of the game we arrive in Norwich at 12 o’clock we in a pub full of Ipswich supporters and there were about 25 who had tickets in the river end so we all went to the ground together . We go in the river end not 1 person had a scarf on and within 10 minutes the police come in and put all of us behind the goal while they decided what to do with us eventually we got escorted round the side of the pitch and were put in the Barclay end where we wanted to be in the first place . But here is the funny thing while we waiting weheard from the river end F of Ipswich F of Ipswich when I looked up it was MR Swallow and all his crew all singing it as they stood amongst the Norwich supporters. To this day I don’t know how the police knew we were Ipswich supporters the only conclusion I could come up with was we all have 8 fingers and 2 thumbs
