Family and friends of Town fan Matt Newman, who died from a brain tumour last week aged 47, are asking fellow supporters to pay tribute with a minute’s applause when the clock ticks past the 47-minute mark during Saturday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Matt's friend Frazer here, want to register my thanks to Phil for his help in putting this article together and up on the site for us and for raising the request for a minute's applause tomorrow. Also to Seb Norton in the ITFC Media and Comms team and Andy Rolls at the club who have been really supportive. I can confirm Matt's parents and sister are hugely touched by the response from the club and our beloved TWTD and will be very emotional as we remember Matt during the game tomorrow. He utterly loved the Town, COYB!
