The 4th women’s goal.. 08:22 - Mar 25 with 1068 views | Swailsey | You can really see how the style of football is threaded through the club can’t you? Having not followed ITFCW for particularly long, I’m not sure if ot was always like this (so I may be doing a disservice), but either way, there’s a real identity which both teams have, which is great to see. The 4th women’s goal.. on 10:51 - Mar 25 with 880 views | IpsRich | That goal is indeed typical of the patterns of play that Joe Sheehan has coached the team on. He's been open about looking to establish a similar identity to the men in collaboration with McKenna. Admittedly that goal is a particularly good example of how they try to play, especially the finish by Gunning-Williams. Sadly that philosophy isn't always translated on to lesser quality playing surfaces or permitted by more aggressive opposition (who are typical at 3rd tier level). But agree its fantastic to see such consistent patterns of play and tactical approach deployed by teams throughout the club - especially when it's successful! For ITFC Women, you can see Laura Hartley mirroring Hladky's confidence with ball to feet. For Leif Davis' left-side marauding see Summer Hughes. Natasha Thomas works unselfishly like Moore/Hirst to support Gunning-Williams (Broadhead) and Peskett (Burns) in the wide attacker roles. Kyra Robertson patrols midfield confidently and leads by example akin to Morsy. Its a pleasure to watch week in week out. [Post edited 25 Mar 2024 10:52]

Thanks for that, really insightful. The 4th goal drew all the parallels you mention below. You could tell by the reaction of the rest of the players too that they had worked on it. Really looking forward to seeing more of them.

The 4th women’s goal.. on 14:55 - Mar 25 with 704 views | ArnieM | Cant remember who said it , but it was either Ashton or McKenna during a very early interview when they were talking about the ethos. And identify of the Club, being stamped right through every team from the youngest age group up to the senior side, being the same. Eg that all the teams would play to the same template, making transition by players through the ranks, easier and seamless, because all the teams play the same way. It was completely evident in the Ladies team on Saturday wasn’t it. We’re in very good hands at this club now I feel.
