School boy errors. Obviously Wes for the goal. But the pass from Phillips to Wolfie that lead to DCL’s one on one with Muric, then the touch by O’Shea on half way in the second that lead to a chance were another couple of examples
The distance between Morsy/phillips and the 3 attacking players was pretty evident from earlyish in the first half and exploited by Everton. Not sure why that was not picked up on by either the coaches or the central two themselves. We didn’t seem to change that until the subs were made
What seemed like a lack of confidence in themselves and their colleagues. A lack of belief. Not until the last 15-20 did we do any more than pass around a rigid system in front of Everton. Nobody had the kahunnas to pass more quickly, with greater penetration. We were also very static. It was like watching England for me.
