It will be interesting if Town centre shops notice a drop in footfall/trade on matchdays after the parking price rises. It is not great that Sunday 8th December between 11:00 and 15:00 and then on the 21st December, the last Saturday before Christmas, between 12:00 and 16:00 the higher parking prices will be in place. It has the knock on effect that shoppers need to be out of the carpark before the higher price period starts and not stay for any food or drink. I suppose the Council will argue that the carparks will be full with match goers rather than shoppers anyway, but not great for a struggling high street at any time, but I am surprised IBC did not wait until after Christmas to bring the higher charges in. |  |
