Isreal as been using and abusing archaeology for decades.

Roughly, if your an archaeologist who agrees to work in Isreal then you are agreeing that whatever the true results of your excavation.
These results will be used to justify and attempt to legitimise Isreals historical ownership of the area.

Everybody in the archaeological world takes any findings coming outta isreal with an enormous pinch of salt.

The destruction of Palastines culture and heritage is just another case of them using cultural heritage and archaeology for political gain.

Destroy the heritage and culture of your enemies while inventing and exaggerating the importance of your own..

I didn't know that.

As it is, I enjoy dipping into the archaeological articles in Haaretz newspaper, and I assume (perhaps wrongly) that such a paper (being left wing) wouldn't go down that route.
