6 points from Coventry, Stoke & Leicester looks good but another off game to finish a “run” has summed up our season performance wise.
How many more “off games” are we going to have this year? We are starting to wrack up a lot of average/poor performances and I am starting to get a little concerned. Oxford, Blackburn (twice), today, Stoke (wasn’t a great performance really), Preston away was poor, Wrexham, Watford… the list starts to get a little silly.
It’s all well and good pulling a rabbit out of the hat every few games - see Coventry result or the home win against Norwich, but that counts for nothing if you don’t put teams like Wrexham at home, Watford at home, Oxford and Blackburn away after.
“Good teams find a way of winning games”, but that quote is used when the other 90% of games you are bang up for it. We simply aren’t.
It’s the performances for me over the results this week.
We look like we are sleep walking into the play offs (no bad thing) but I worry if we don’t go up this year, what the reaction is going to be.
We have spent a lot of money.
In 20 games time if we get knocked out the play offs I am a little confused as to where we go - I’d hate for us to be 20 games later in the season looking back and just thinking we didn’t perform consistently enough through the season because we have the players that should walk this league.
I don’t think we have put together 3(!) solid performances in a row.
We seriously need to get a grip on this because I don’t see how we can be looking at the top 2 let alone the play offs with our performances. Yes we got put away by Leeds twice last time in the Champ, but the context of our team was massively different.
We should not be conceding 3 goals in this league - and we have done it in 2 games already this season.
This has been a very poor season irrespective of league position. We can’t keep beating Coventry to then concede 3 at a poor Leicester and can’t beat Norwich just to lose to Charlton 3-0 at home a week or so later.
No passion was showed today and that’s annoyed me the most. No big tackles, lacklustre passing, poor decision making… Just Meh.
We have spent £200m+ and can’t put in a performance is my issue.
Rant over but that game just got more frustrating the longer it went on.
