It was never going to well with a ‘former’ Islamist extremist group taking power. I think we both agreed at the time Assad fled that it was a case of out of the frying pan into the fire…

In line with expectations they’ve carried out attacks on virtually every minority group in Syria, so the poor civilians are effectively still in a failed state.
