How harsh is it that European Champions England would need to finish ahead of the World Champions Spain to qualify for the World Cup automatically?! After the defeat to Spain yesterday we almost certainly face two rounds of play-offs for finishing second in the group, along with all other teams in the group. I think the format it wrong, and it seems they have structured it just so the better teams play each other more often, and so there are lots of play-off matches.
