Oddly I wouldnt have said this if we were championship, but as we are in the premier and its a bit of a free hit ( we're 3rd favourite to get relegated )so i would go for Steve Gerrard as he may well be able to attract the type of player we need to stay up
Like Frank Lampard ( and tbf worryingly for my theory Wayne Rooney lol ) he doesnt need the money but just loves the game . Rangers went really well, Villa didnt, but i think he could be a good shout and would much rather have a punt on him then get Gary O Neil. Frank a good manager as is dyche but Gerrard could be the difference on signing, players such as harvey elliot for example?
Tbf i had never heard of KM when we signed him, who knows, it could be another complete unknown
2nd choice for me would be Lee Carsley as i also think he could be very attractcive to good, young players

As i said. I wouldnt suggest Gerrard in the championship but Keane might have been better in the prem, also Gerrard.is a very differant character
Yes we need someone who can keep us up but unless we unearth and attract some absolute gems not even Pep could keep us up.
Maybe Lee Carsley is more youre cup of tea then?
If we're really lucky we'll get for eg a european like when Arsenal got Arsene Wenger who wasnt widely known and he brought in some countryman that we also hadnt heard of - viera, petit, henry - who turned out to be ....quite good? | |
