I know this wasn’t intended, but reading this, my mind went to Coventry away last season. The vision and composure to be in the exact right spot, and seal the win in an important moment, after being injured for 11 months showed everything about the man. Whilst he’s not the ‘best’ player ever to play for Town (not many are), I don’t think there’s a player that’s summed up the past few years better than him. First signing of the GC20 era for comparative peanuts, came up big for the team time and time again, a key player in each of the 3 promotion seasons, we always looked better for him being on the pitch, and he was missed when he wasn’t. Exeter, Cov (x2), Huddersfield and many more moments will live long in the memory. Even that bloke being arrested for spitting at him at Peterborough. I’ll love that man for the rest of my life, genuinely one of my favourite Town players ever and I believe he deserves his place in the Hall of Fame, simply for being the exemplar of these McKenna sides.
