Lukic creativity and dribbling success 06:28 - Aug 7 with 1322 viewsDanLyles

Based on his FOTMOB stats (usual caveats), season-on-season Sasa actually ranks really highly amongst his Premier League midfield peers for chances created, successful crosses, touches in the opposition box and dribbling success percentages. He seems to be much more than another defensive shield, but someone who would compliment Florentino or Matusiwa in a balanced double pivot.

That said, I wouldn’t be against us targeting another CM with a similar profile to Hayden Hackney, to add to our options.

It’s worth pointing out that Lukic was a set piece taker for Fulham which would inflate a lot of metrics mentioned below.

The dribble success being high is good but it’s on a very low volume which would indicate this isn’t a massive strength of his.

He’s certainly not just a shin kicker and is more rounded than Florentino (who will sit as a 6) I’m sure we’ll bring in another who hopefully has a mixture of strong ball progression and solidity out of possession.

That’s a fair point about set pieces. I didn’t realise how involved he was. Nice to know he has that in his locker though, as a right footer. I envisage us playing on the counter a lot this year, with two physically imposing holding midfielders and potentially Enciso, Maeda, marquee striker (Ueda, Delap on loan etc) and Fatawu attacking any space left in behind
