| Experts on 10:04 - Aug 13 with 430 views | hsg78 | Aside from a BBC sport article last week comparing our transfer activity compared to that of 2 years ago, a lot of the really good work, alongside the managerial change has gone under the radar which is great. 2 years ago clearly there was a lot of fanfare given that this was the return after 22 years, and the story the team had been on. But that season was critically handicapped by the infrastructure work that extended through the entire off season, alongside not having the backroom teams in place to get recruitment right. I think we absolutely did the right thing building the team we did, and there was a sense of a free hit that year, but this was validated by bouncing straight back up, with a PL ready stadium and back room team in place. Suspect there would be much more fanfare about all of our prospects (or lack thereof) this season if all 3 promoted teams had gone down again last season, but that's given us a degree of anonymity to just get on with the work this summer. Exciting times. Do think Coventry and Hull won't lay a glove this season however. |  | |  |
