I was once told that the bulk of the song 'Gimme Shelter' was written by Keith Richard whilst waiting outside the recording studio. At the time Mr Jagger was inside the studio applying 'First Aid' to Anita Pallenberg who was KR's girlfriend at the time. That is why the lyrics are quite 'difficult'.
