Overall I thought there was plenty of promise. KVY looked a cut above most of our team, confidently dribbling through the Spurs press and Doba made some nice runs with Bishop too. Woolfenden and Downes demonstrated their usual class and Dozzel was finally getting stuck in a bit more than most games.
Most importantly it's nice seeing us stick with a system where the center-backs split and the fullbacks pushed high - something we have lacked for so long. Hopefully Lambert will persist with it even if it will take time to perfect.
Only a few downsides. Cornell looked like a dear caught in the headlights although it's an awful game to debut in, and for much of the game the formation looked like the classic 4-5-1 with Jackson and Drinan isolated - but then it's hard to tell if that's our fault or if Spurs are just good.
Anyway, I'm sure if we tweak a few things and play a proper 1st team we'll be a real contender for promotion in league 1.
