Haven't commented on this yet, so just thought I'd chuck my thoughts out there. Burgess makes a huge difference, dominates in the air and also dominated the floor in this game, he's got to start for me. Humphrey's has to stay and start, class act and growing with every game, he's the future of the club. Harness had a much better game, Chaplin did not. The stats from this game were a sea change from the usual, we had far less possession and shots, but the conversion rates (shots on target, shots to goals) were far, far superior than usual too. Exeter are an attacking side and IMO they played their normal game against us, which denied us possession, but actually suited us better in terms of having more space to play into on attack. It could be suggested that Exeter were naive to try and play us at our own game in this respect, where others have had far more success shutting up shop and trying for a counter goal, we'll take it al lday long. Not applicable to the Exeter game, but we still need to figure out how to break down teams that park the bus, no point having 70%+ possession and a zillion shots, with no reward. | |
