If you know a bit about football formations, the style we play is a build up, ground based style, however it dictates (by the book) that you have the option of an aerial attack option via the 9 and this is why all the strikers we are linked with are tall. Unfortunately, Ladapo has proven repeatedly to be awful at heading the ball and thus presents a major weakness for the formation, let’s be fair he’s pretty damned average on the floor too.
The “fox in the box” that I reckon would suit our play, isn’t “by the play book” and McK is obviously sticking to that book. What we will need is another creative CAM/forward who can pick a pass, I think Humphreys can do that, but it looks like they want someone with more experience in that role.
That’s my 2 pence worth anyway, still think Whittaker fits the bill perfectly for that role and is definitely someone we should be pursuing. |  |
