Hope he gets a thunderous ovation and support. It’s awful to think about what’s ahead for him and his family. My mate, who was diagnosed in January 2022 has already lost the use of his left arm. Which just in itself is horrible, but what it actually means is he now always wears track bottoms and t-shirts. Why? Because shirt buttons and belt buckles are impossible to deal with. And as he told me, basic stuff like wiping your ar5e also becomes a challenge. (There is apparently a gadget you can buy to help with this). His mother in law is moving in to the family home to essentially become his carer. He’s gone from the life and soul of the party to someone who struggles to find the motivation to get out of bed. As he says, there really is no hope, it’s more about managing your decline. An evil, wicked disease. So unfair. | |
