Maybe it has always happened, but more and more teams seem to choose to wear bland away kits when they could wear their home colours.
Watching yesterday's highlights, Sheffield Utd wore white at Norwich (rather than red and white stripes). Lincoln wore black at Sheffield Wed (rather than red and white stripes).
At Portman Road last month, Burton wore black (rather than yellow and black) and Accrington wore white (rather than red).
Maybe there is an occasion teams do this to help colour blind fans, but not sure about all of those. I think clubs need to uphold tradition and I hope Ipswich choose to wear blue wherever possible. [Post edited 2 Apr 2023 19:35]
