I've used the Internet Archive to download out-of-copyright books to my audioreader but discovered on Saturday that it also has music to download. I was looking for albums released by Dee Dee Ramone after he left the Ramones. They were only ever released on vinyl, didn't sell many copies and are not available digitally on, say, Spotify. And if copies of the vinyls ever come up for sale, they sell for relatively vast sums. However, they are available in digital form on the Internet Archive, presumably because they are no longer commercially available, thus enabling someone to rip the albums and upload them without copyright issues. Here's the link to search. https://archive.org/search I might add that if you search, say, the Sex Pistols, it brings up gems such as this (Sex Pistols live at the Manchester Lesser Free Trade Hall in June 1976, which Buzzcocks and other putative Manchester bands attended). https://archive.org/details/Sex_Pistols_1976-06-04/1976-06-04+Lesser+Free+Trade+ So you might want to search for your favourite artists and see what it comes up with.
