I’m chuffed for Muric after the difficult season but I can’t see him coming back here.

I don’t think he has to much choice, he is our player!

He's a good keeper with a lot of potential. I don't think we'll see him back in a town shirt but a good loan would be very good if we can command a good fee.

Dont their fans know that they need to boo him and moan just for being named on the teamsheet?

That's the way to motivate and inspire him.

On paper, but I mean we’ll end up moving him on and we won’t see him in an ITFC shirt again. I wonder if he’s done a Jens and kept his place here?

Great news for us on both counts.

Muric just is not a fit so if we can get back the money that we paid, that will be a result.

Slicks likely still a few seasons away either way as you'd have thought an SPL/ decent EFL loan will be on the cards next year.

Reckon we'd be higher in the table now if we'd stuck with him?

(Note that's a question rather than a statement).

Did you see his first game for them? It was woeful.

And that's the issue, in that he's a good keeper but 1 in 3 games having some kind of brainfart isn't good enough for us.

Palmer also won't be the long-term Premier League solution, but if we go up again I'm sure the club will avoid the mistakes of the past.

Coincidentally, the anniversary of his best game for us.

As others have said hopefully he can have a great season in Serie A and put himself in the shop window. I don't see a world where he comes back to us, but at 26 / 27 he's a good age and is well protected from a contract perspective. If we can get anything close to what we paid you would have to say its a decent bit of damage limitation on a deal that hasn't worked. And they wont all work.

All ifs, but's and maybe's but if we are promoted this season the squad is in a good place contract wise. The 'fringe' players for various reasons in Walton, Button, Townsend, Young, Taylor all out of contract and probably move out of the squad. Chaplin, Harry Clarke and Burns as well, decisions on them or perhaps by them. Baggott & Humphreys will be easy enough to find deals for. Muric, Ogbene, Johnson, Szmodics possibly ones we look to recoup money on with a couple of years left on their deals.

No obligation on Ivan, but Kipre, Jens and Akpom tied down.

Would leave us with a trim 'core' 15 /16 or so and the headroom to go out and strengthen the spine with proven PL quality. New #1, CB, RB, #9, #10, probably a big ticket in the middle as well.

Don't need to think about any of that though, got to enjoy trying to get there first.

I actually think he will come back as not convinced our current two are good enough.
If Muric comes good he’ll be an asset in this tough season.

He's the kind of maverick who will end up at one of bigger Turkish Clubs and have some worldie performances in some Europa ties, looking a million dollars

But lacks the consistency for a top European club, even though he has all the attributes to be that good

We need someone a lot steadier sadly, Palmer is fine for now

A Ramsdale style signing if we do make it back there is 100% needed

Agree re the Ramsdale type signing.

Look at the three seasons we've had in the Premier League this century, and it's no coincidence that we had a top keeper in the one in which we excelled.

But there's a long way to go before we get close to having that classic "nice problem to have".

Woeful is a massive exaggeration. It was portrayed as that but he made one error.

Yep Cremonense finished that game with an xG of 3.32, xGOT of 3.20, and Muric conceded 3 goals. A chap bashed him on X and some Town fans pounced on it to further ridicule the guy.

We should sign just players with MOTM awards.

Levels. This is how we ended up paying £11 million too much for him in the first place.

Also feel if we had a better central defenders would help him to. I still think Wolfy and Cam was our best 2 central defenders last year. Neither O’shea or greaves give me any confidence.
