I think it goes back even further than that. In 1983, the rules were changed so that away clubs no longer got a percentage of the home gate receipts when it came to league games. That was the start of un-levelling of the playing field in favour of the bigger clubs. |  | |  |

Fair point. I'm still bitter about having to give up my season ticket over 30 years ago, 3 pm on a Saturday and 7:45 pm for midweek games suited, once they started moving to Sunday afternoons etc to suit a TV audience for me it was no longer viable. |  | |  |
