Michael Clarke, classically trained at the Royal Ballet, became the enfant terrible of contemporary dance.

As an aside, I once went to see him perform in "I Am Curious, Orange" at Sadlers Wells, the music for which came from the Fall's album "I Am Kuriois, Oranj". Unfortunately, he wasn't able to perform and an understudy took his place, which was a bit like going to Bruce Springsteen only to find that the support act were headlining.
