England boasts the First Ladies football team, the Dick Kerr Ladies Football team, who played in front of crowds at Deepdale during the early 1900’s, of over 30,000 on a regular basis. Originally formed to raise funds for the army personnel , post wars ( I believe), and they raised over £1million pounds in today’s money, playing football. They were so good that they were considered the best team in the World at the time. They played at match at Goodson Park, in front of a crowd of over 53,000........ then the FA does what it does best. It banned all women’s football from FA affiliated grounds, Clubs and parks as it deemed “ football to be an unsuitable game for women”. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick,_Kerr%27s_Ladies_F.C. | |
