but I'm going to try. On the back of a promising performance on Saturday & some welcome integration of younger new players, Lambert drops both full backs - who were hugely integral - and brings back the 2 35 year olds. He compounds this by playing a narrow 4-4-2 diamond, which puts huge emphasis on the full backs' ability to get forwards. This doesn't happen, so we resort to lumping it long. We get lucky & get an early goal, but still can't control the ball. Lambert does change the formation at half time (only a blind fool wouldn't have done so) but the momentum is lost & another re-shaped Town can't get any sort of passing game going. This season is long gone. I can only hope that Evans is waiting for this to be confirmed so that Lambert can be dismissed & we can try again. However, we're going to be playing 5 loan players until the end of the season so we won't be developing our own. | |
