Just reading the autobiography of the commentator; it contains a chapter on Sir Bobby. Without mentioning ITFC it is still a different insight into the man. Two things I learnt among others are 1) how Freddie Shepherd protected him at Newcastle (it was the players that got him the sack) and 2) there is a statue of BR on the 18th green at Vila Sol in Portugal where his annual charity golf event is still held. The chapter finishes with a quote from Jose Mourinho; 'A person only dies when the last person who loves him dies.' Sir Bobby Robsons unique DNA is still going strong. The book is a damn good read - different from most football literature. Just to add, I have just finished the next chapter, it is on the subject of racism - please read it if you can - so eloquent, and I certainly can learn from it. [Post edited 2 Jul 2021 16:44]
