Squad mentality 13:54 - Dec 8 with 258 viewsIPSWICHFANITFC

If some of those players have aspirations to play at a higher level, then if they can't handle the fans getting on them at a big club in L1, they won't play at a higher level because they've got to be able to bottle that up and block that out and deal with this pressure.

If the players are going to accept this form and results without doing a lot to change it, then Ipswich will be in L1 for the foreseeable. Why would you not have high standards at a club like Ipswich?

Unfortunately, for the majority at Ipswich, they're struggling. How many of them have played in front of 20,000+ home fans every week? How many have played in front of sold out away ends? How many of them have played at a club with big expectations?

I just don't think this squad has enough to handle the weight on their shoulders. It doesn't help when the captain isn't interested.

Playing in front of Wigan's 9k attendance, Shrewsbury's 4k attendance, Salford's 1.5k attendance is a completely different scale of pressure and expectation and this squad are showing they haven't got the character to handle pressure at this football club.

It's not all of them - Edmundson played in front of 50k at Rangers, he's showing character on the pitch... meanwhile his CB partner is squaring up to the away end.

Poll: If selling Jackson meant getting in a wide man, would you be happy with Garbutt?
