I think I have to say on behalf of the whole board you're a bit late.
You could have said this on 01.01.2022.
But you waited until the last day of the year.
That's a poor show.

Come back in 3 hours.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

‘Fashionably late’ is the phrase. Not that I expect any of you lot to match my style of fashion*. Def info.

*luckily for you, as it’s non-existent

Lang may yer lum reek!

Literally, long may your chimney smoke. A traditional Scottish new year's greeting which is a wish for someone’s long and healthy life.

Interestingly, my father's version of first-footing in England (because it wasn't done in England) was to step outside our house just before, and enter the house just after, midnight. As I grew older, and my hair darkened, I also performed that function when returning after midnight from a new year's eve party. Admittedly, neither my father nor I was a stranger.
