After the Newcastle result, with Arsenal & Chelsea next up, it looked like we could be heading into the new year off the back of 3 heavy defeats (Arsenal & Chelsea can hammer anyone on their day), so it was really important that we contained Arsenal at the Emirates first of all & then be competitive tonight. In getting the win, we not only kept the belief in the team, but gave ourselves a boost for the transfer window, which will be important if we are to stay up. Southampton's chances of signing coveted quality players will be lower than ours, & even the likes of a Latte Lathe might be reluctant to trade a side in the Championship playoffs, for one looking destined to be relegated from the Premier League.
