Very impressed with the link up play between the three but also the work rate. Broadhead did well getting back in and cutting off the passing lanes into Palmer. Hutchinson did not stop sprinting around the pitch. Delap gave us an out ball all night.
I think we may have found a formula to work with for the next few games. A back 3 has made us more solid, Morsy and Cajuste work well in the centre together to break it up and protect the back 3, and those 3 up top gave us an out ball and carried us up the pitch. |  |

More to be seen from Broadhead before we can judge him either way I think, but he made a good start yesterday.
As for Delap and Omari, if those two continue to develop their on-pitch routines like this we are going to have a few more excellent results to look forward to this season. If both keep firing on all cylinders and avoid injury/suspensions we might just be ok. Which is what you hope for from your 1st and 3rd most expensive signings ever. |  |

I feel like Broadhead is our second best ball carrier in the squad. I think you need these types of players at this level if you're at the wrong end of the table. You won't pass your way out all the time and keep the ball, sometimes, you just need someone to drag you up the pitch.
With the 3 up top yesterday, they all did that and took the pressure off. It's needed and I thought he was brilliant. He's a good footballer and we've seen him have quiet patches before but hopefully he can keep it up with the opportunities he's now starting to get again. | |

Morsy has been excellent, but I do have a curiosity that wonders what Cajuste & Phillips could do together given a run in the side. Morsy has been better than Phillips in all departments all season. No way would i take Morsy out and i think it's ridiculous that fans keep saying it. Thankfully the manager knows and keeps morsy in. |  | | |

I don't think Phillips has been bad for us and has definitely been getting better as the season has progressed, but I don't see him getting in over Morsy.
Morsy is a calm influence in midfield, he started the season strong but I don't think he's maintained that strong start, and you could argue that Phillips started slow, but has got better as the season has progressed.
What we do know is Morsy and Phillips didn't work very well together, but I agree, Phillips and Cajuste has worked well when paired, but I think Morsy and Cajuste are a stronger pairing. | |
