Some more composed thoughts. 16:15 - Jan 5 with 491 viewsDublinBlue84

Having calmed down a bit now I'm really disappointed.

We HAVE to stop doing this. The first half of the season was full of COULD'VE, WOULD'VE, SHOULD'VE if we didn't make mistakes at key points. To stay up we have to eradicate the shooting ourselves in the foot we did so often in the first 10-12 games.

Over the last few games there has been some really encouraging signs that we were starting to turn the corner, manage games better and stop making stupid mistakes, but today felt like an earlier season game where we competed but still found ways to throw away points.

In terms of the subs I think that we need to get another striker in as soon as possible, when Ali came on we lost our out ball and to be honest the drop off is so big surely we should have just played Delap for the last 10 minutes or so to make sure we have that out ball. That's even more the case when we don't have Cajuste or Hutchinson on the pitch, when we are defending a lead we just can't carry the likes of Ali. Maybe we could in the Championship, but not here.

In terms of the central midfield situation I think that we need to start looking at a situation where if possible, we look to play Phillips and Cajuste as whilst I love Sam and everything he has done for this club, mother time is catching up with him and Cajuste has to be the number one choice for midfield now.

I still remain much more positive following the last 3 matches than I have done for a while, but we can't have many more games where we do silly things between now and the end of the season. Personally I think we will pick up more points in the second half than we did in the first half of the season, but keeping our composure and keeping the errors out are going to be essential for that.

Poll: Should Davis have been sent off?
